Metsi Matso Lodge
About Metsi Matso Lodge
Nestled in the foot of the Drakensberg Mountain Range, in the picture square of Sentinel Peak, this jewel is the heart and soul of the tranquility you find in the Eastern Free State.
Established on the banks of Metsi-Matsho Dam [Popularly known as Swartwater Dam], this is a paradise for fly fishermen (and women of course). In his book, African Fly-Fishing Hand Book – Bill Hansford-Steele (2004 publication foreword by current Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa ) tells a story that this dam holds the All-African Rainbow Trout Record as at 2003. For this reason, our fish hatchery and breeding ponds are here to serve your needs for a long time.
Bring your rods, we will provide you with fish…big fish!!
Conference Venues: We are able to host conferences for up to 200 delegates. However, we do not offer breakaway rooms.
