About Platberg Backpackers

This family friendly establishment is the ideal stopover between Johannesburg and Durban. It is also the ideal base for hikers and travelers to explore the area from. Sentinel Peak (Chain Ladders), Golden Gate National Park, the Sterkfontein Dam and also the Royal Natal National Park can all be accessed from us. Platberg Harrismith Backpackers is located centrally in town, walking distance from the business center, shops, banks, post office, police station, supermarkets and more.It has a lovely stoep in the front where you can sit and enjoy the view of the majestic Platberg Mountain.We have rooms for families, couples or singles. There are also two 6 sleeper rooms as well as a 4 sleeper fitted with single beds. Requests are always welcome! A fully equipped communal kitchen is available for self catering purposes.Test your braai master skills in the back garden with braai facilities or chill in the TV lounge with DStv. Laundry facilities are available at an additional cost.We offer WiFi for free! Information on the area is available!!
