About Steam Inn Pub and Grill
The Steam Inn Pub and Grill is well-situated on an escarpment in the Lowveld. This charming, typically English pub offers accommodation, a bar and restaurant in Waterval Boven. Established in 1898 as a railway depot, Waterval Boven is Dutch for ‘Above Waterfall’ and is named after the waterfall in the Elands River. The area is rich with historical sites and the village is nestled in the Drakensberg Mountains. Horse riding, trout fishing and hiking are popular activities in the region.
Each of the double rooms contains twin single beds, that can be made up together as a double bed on request, as well as an en-suite with a shower, hand basin and toilet. Room facilities include tea and coffee-making facilities, heaters in winter and fans in summer. Breakfast is available on request. The pub and grill offers an a la carte menu featuring seafood, steaks, hamburgers and pizza and is open until late.
The Steam Inn Pub and Grill also makes an ideal venue for weddings and special events and we offer Friday and Saturday night entertainment and on-deck braai facilities.
