About Terebinte

Terebinte Bed and Breakfast on 62 Chelmsford forms part of a property in upper Glenwood, Durban, which has the charms of an old house with wooden floors and high ceilings and an old fashioned garden, hosting mango and banana trees. The proprietors, Yuri and her husband Gerhard Duraan, will welcome you with open arms and make you feel at home.

Settle in and enjoy all the comforts of home with just that little extra attention to detail. You are also welcome to use the charming front porch in the evenings to soak up the city bustle and have a quiet drink or cup of coffee. Terebinte has its own vehicle entrance and is situated in the courtyard of the main property. It is within walking distance to St Augustine's Hospital and close to Entabeni Hospital, which makes it the perfect overnight stay for family members of patients undergoing procedures.

There are many advantages staying in such a central area as you are close to all amenities and less than 5 km away from the beach. Visit us once and you will be a guest forever.

          Very nice in all respects. Gerhardt & Yuri go an extra 3 miles to ensure your comfort. I have NO complaints & I would definitely stay again & recommend to friends. If you are an older person, I would suggest the upper suite, as there are not as many stairs. Nice area close to Malls & restaurants + a hospital if needed!

          Terebinte is kind and welcoming with a calming atmosphere. Close to the city center and easily reachable. The hosts, Gerhard and Yuri are gracious and kind and welcoming.           The decor is phenomenal. It will take your breathe away! The room is absolutely stunning, its a hidden gem tucked away in the quiet suburb of Berea.You will not be disappointed.           Terebinte was a well situated venue (guesthouse) for the purpose we visited Durban for the weekend. Although our room was not ready when we arrived we were well received and offered something to drink on the verandah. while we waited. Our host was friendly and helpful and we felt very much at home. Gerhard also assisted us explaining routes to the places we had to visit.

          Arrived at Terebinte a few hours earlier than the normal check-in time, but Gerhard the owner (with the assistance of his father, Nick) arranged for the room to be ready.A cosy converted room, with it's own secure parking, became our home away from home for the weekend, offering all the comforts we needed.Nick and his wife (Gerhard's mother) arranged a delicious breakfast for us both mornings we were there, and they were friendly and helpful when questioned about things to see and do in the area.All in all I had an incredible stay in Durban - my first time in the city - and staying at Terebint...
