Shakas Rock

If you are looking for a relaxed and sun-kissed but slightly less bustling holiday, Shakas Rock is the perfect place for that. It is situated on the Dolphin Coast, less than 50 kilometres from Durban and only five kilometres away from the renowned holiday destination of Ballito. Shakas Rock is a small residential village with a lot of accommodation to choose from. It derives its name from a rocky outcrop of the north coast which according to legend, Shaka, the great Zulu chief, used as a lookout.

The beautiful stretch of sandy beach has a small tidal pool for kids to splash in, the famous Shakas Rock to fish from, and plenty of shells to collect. Shakas Rock is also famous as a ski-boat launch site which is an entertaining site for visitors.

All major facilities are available in the neighbouring suburb of Ballito, with a variety of nearby golf courses and shopping malls.
