About De Akker Guest House

De Akker Guest House is built in the shade of a 75 year old oak tree, planted here in the early 1930s by Dr. Johan van der Riet. The guest house offers a rich history, depicted in the seven rooms available to guests.

Minor changes have been made during these past years, and all rooms are comfortably furnished, some bigger than others, but all just as comfortable. The rooms are equipped with DStv and air-conditioning, and breakfast is served daily from in the breakfast room. De Akker is fully enclosed, with motorized gates and a well-lit parking area for guests' peace of mind.

The guest house is located within easy distance from Bloemfontein Waterfront and Mall, the Free State Rugby and Soccer Stadium, Free State Cricket Oval, Medi Clinic Hospital, Grey College School, and Eunice School.

We stayed at De Akker for one night only on our way back from holiday but we found the staff extremely accommodating (we only arrived at 20:00 on a Friday evening and we were met with warm smiles and a hearty welcome).The room was luxurious and breakfast was delicious! will definitely stay there again.
