We had a lovely stay at De Wagenhuis Guest House.  The property was beautiful, set in the fields with the mountains in the background. There is an old fashioned trophy room with a collection of South African animal and race car trophies.  There is also a quaint, hand built chapel on the property.  Our room was amazing, huge with a spacious sitting area.  Lots of light and African treasures on display.  The bathroom was incredible.  One room with two sinks, another room with a bathtub and two showers and a glass doors for wonderful Light.  Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.

Our 2 nights at De Wagenhuis were some of the best accommodation we had during our 25 days in South Africa. The room was beautifully equipped, and we enjoyed the facility of a guest lounge on the upper floor. We were welcomed by Tanya who looked after us very well in the hosts absence, and on the second evening we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the hosts and having a convivial evening with them and four other guests. It was interesting to hear about the history of the property from Andrew. The food was good, with particularly tasty breakfasts. We also enjoyed the swimming pool to cool off.

This guesthouse was easy to find following the directions given on the website despite being well away from a town. The views are wonderful and it is extremely quiet and comfortable. We were the only guests the night we stayed but our hosts were very friendly and answered our many questions about the house (which has been magnificently restored) and also about South Africa with excellent information and it was like staying with friends.
