About Oudekloof Wine Estate & Guest House

Oudekloof farm lies a the foot of the historical Oudekloof pass. To reach the farm, you cross the Klein Berg river, creating a clear boundary between the pressures of city life and the splendid isolation of the farm. Arriving at the homestead, one gets a view not unlike the one that the early travellers saw as they came over the Obiqwa mountains. Separated from the village, perched high up on the mountainside, one feels at once a sense of peace and tranquillity where you can wander along the trails and farms roads undisturbed by schedules and routines. Just outside the door, adventure awaits – challenging hiking and mountain bike trails criss-cross the valley. There is endless exploring to be done on the routes once used by brave travellers. If adventure is not on your ‘to-do’ list, visit the Oude stoor for wine tasting and local produce or book a tractor ride to take you up the mountain for breath taking scenes of the Tulbagh valley and Witzenberg mountains, and The Swartland. Come for a day, a weekend or longer to experience the magic of Oudekloof – and create your own memories in this lovely, pristine “first” valley. We offer a three bedroomed house with a private pool and five laborours cottages which were lovingly restored into self catering accommodation. All are fully equipped with towels, bedding and kitchen necessities. Every cottage has a portable braai and a ‘stoep–with-a-view’. The laborours cottages are situated amongst fruit and nut trees and has a small herb and veggie garden where you can ‘pick-what-you-need’ and enjoy.

Absolute magic from the first moment. The beds are so comfortable, the towels were fresh and the rooms large. The whole experience for my friends and I will always be memorable. The pool was clean, etc, I can go on and on. The hosts are friendly, warm and honestly stunning people. We enjoyed live music, waffles, wine, fudge, jams and the best baked bread ever. A home away from home and one I'll definitely recommend to everyone. The complete experience gets a 5 star. Thank you SO much Christine. With love from Durbanville.

Love this accomodation as 2nd time we have been here now. We did however find that the commom area could have been cleaner especially the toilet area. Our actual accomodation which was the blue cottage had some plates that were dirty when we wanted to use. We also found that there was a missing towel hook and it could have done with a small bench in the bathroom when changing. It was wet weather so I also think there could have been an outdoor mat when entering the cottage as it got dirty very quickly. We will however definitely be back as the host was very accomodating and gave us bread as an...

Loved the atmosphere and peace but I felt the room itself could do with a few more amenities. Another towel rack in the bathroom, some salt, a dishwashing sponge. The outside chairs were also in a state of disrepair.

Wonderful place to unwind but also close to historic Tulbagh. Loved the quaint blue cottage and the wonderful view on the valley and surrounding mountains. The staff treated me with so much love and kindness. I was deeply touched. Would love to return in future!
